European University opens Viadrina Center of Polish and Ukrainian Studies

On Thursday, November 30, 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will celebrate the grand opening of the Viadrina Center of Polish and Ukrainian Studies (VCPU).

In addition to Viadrina President Prof. Dr. Eduard Mühle, the Ambassador of Ukraine, H. E. Oleksii Makeiev, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Germany, H. E. Dariusz Pawłoś, as well as the Minister of Science of the State of Brandenburg, Dr. Manja Schüle, will speak words of welcome at the opening. The leadership of the new Center – the holder of the Viadrina Professorship for Polish Studies, Prof. Dr. Dagmara Jajeśniak-Quast, and the holder of the Viadrina Professorship for Entangled History of Ukraine, Prof. Dr. Andrii Portnov – will then give an outlook on the content and tasks of the new central scientific institution.
